“Duck Dynasty’s” Jase and Missy Robertson, tears in their eyes, make the devastating announcement.

Mia Robertson, the youngest member of the Duck Dynasty family, born to Jake and Missy Robertson, came into the world with a cleft lip and palate, a condition marked by a gap in the upper lip that can affect the gums as well.

Statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveal that approximately one in every 1,600 newborns in the United States is born with a cleft lip and palate.

Despite her challenges, Mia, now eighteen, has shown remarkable resilience, undergoing 13 surgeries to address her condition, with the most recent being her fourteenth. Her family is hopeful that this latest procedure will bring resolution to her medical journey.

Throughout each surgery, Mia maintains a positive attitude and aims to inspire other children facing similar circumstances. She took the initiative to start the Mia Moo Fund, with the support of her family, to ensure that every child with a cleft lip and palate can find joy.

The Mia Moo Fund serves a dual purpose: raising awareness about the cleft lip and palate journey and providing financial assistance to families in need across America.

Jase Robertson shared an update on Mia’s progress during his podcast, Unashamed, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support. He reported that Mia is recovering well and has reached a turning point in her healing process.

Missy Robertson, speaking to Christian Post, emphasized the importance of relying on faith during Mia’s health journey. Mia, now eighteen, has taken charge of her medical decisions and conversations, demonstrating her maturity and strength.

Looking ahead, Mia expresses hope that her latest surgery will mark the end of her medical journey. She eagerly anticipates reaching “the finish line” and bidding farewell to frequent visits to the doctors.

Amidst Mia’s ongoing medical journey, the Robertson family prepares to welcome a new member into their home, showing their boundless capacity for love and compassion.

Let’s send our well wishes for Mia’s speedy recovery and share her inspiring story with others on Facebook.
